Our new collection is coming soon, custom made straps, expertly crafted in our workshop for your wristwatch. The new collection is called Sustainable Alligator, featuring sustainable alligator leather straps. Previously discarded defective leathers are now being used thanks to the cutting skill of our artisans. Why call an alligator leather strap sustainable? Not all hides from farms pass the quality inspection, and the main reason for this is that these animals live and grow in the wild, so sometimes their skin gets damaged, rejected by the leather industry, and ultimately discarded.

This is how alligator leather is discarded. We have decided to partner with alligator leather farmers and tanners who are committed to reducing their environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices. We don’t have to sacrifice lower-quality hides. To reduce the environmental impact of farms and tanneries, it is essential that 100% of the hides are used: this way, products are sold at a lower price, and a zero-waste policy is guaranteed. Montearancio will collaborate with a renowned tannery and market a sustainable alligator leather strap. The quality of our straps remains unchanged, with the technical challenge for our artisans being to avoid as much as possible the small defects naturally present in these hides.
